The 1900 Queen Victoria “Veiled Head” Gold Sovereign is a historic Australian gold coin struck at the Sydney branch of the Royal Mint during the final years of Queen Victoria’s reign. Produced in 22 carat (.9167 fine) gold, this sovereign weighs 7.98 grams and contains approximately 7.322 grams (0.2354 troy ounces) of pure gold. It belongs to the celebrated Veiled Head series (1893–1901), the final portrait type issued during the Victorian era and one of the most iconic sovereign series ever produced.

The obverse features the distinguished “Veiled Head” or “Old Head” portrait of Queen Victoria, designed by Sir Thomas Brock. Depicted wearing a widow’s veil and the Imperial State Crown, the portrait symbolises the maturity and stability of the British Empire during the latter years of Victoria’s reign. The reverse displays Benedetto Pistrucci’s renowned St. George and the Dragon design. The “S” mintmark above the date identifies this coin as a Sydney Mint issue.
