The 1900 Queen Victoria “Veiled Head” Gold Sovereign is a historic Australian gold coin struck at the Melbourne branch of the Royal Mint during the final years of Queen Victoria’s reign. Produced in 22 carat (.9167 fine) gold, this sovereign weighs 7.98 grams and contains approximately 7.322 grams (0.2354 troy ounces) of pure gold. It belongs to the celebrated Veiled Head series (1893–1901), the final portrait type issued during the Victorian era.

The obverse features the distinguished “Veiled Head” portrait of Queen Victoria, designed by Sir Thomas Brock. Depicted wearing a widow’s veil and the Imperial State Crown, the portrait reflects the maturity and stability of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch of the nineteenth century.
