Early Australian Kookaburra 2oz Silver Issue

The 1995 Australian Kookaburra 2oz Silver Proof Coin is an early release from the highly regarded Australian Kookaburra series. Struck from 99.9% fine silver, this larger-format proof coin contains 2 troy ounces of silver and combines precious metal content with the strong collector appeal of one of Australia’s most recognised annual coin programs.

The reverse features a detailed depiction of a kookaburra perched on a tree branch, together with the inscriptions “2 OZ”, “999 SILVER” and the year 1995. Designed by acclaimed wildlife artist Tony Dean, the reverse captures the character of Australia’s iconic laughing kookaburra in a classic early-series design.

The obverse bears the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the Australian legal tender denomination of 2 Dollars.
