1900 Perth Mint Queen Victoria Gold Sovereign

The 1900 Perth Mint Gold Sovereign is an early Australian sovereign struck during the reign of Queen Victoria. Featuring the distinguished Veiled Head portrait of the Queen on the obverse and the iconic St George and the Dragon design on the reverse, this coin represents one of the classic issues of the sovereign series.

Produced by the Perth Mint shortly after sovereign production commenced in Western Australia, the coin carries the Perth mintmark beneath the date on the reverse. Struck to the traditional sovereign standard of 22-carat gold, it contains 0.2354 troy ounces of fine gold and remains one of the most recognised historic gold coin formats in the world.
